A Young Male Gets A DUI Arrest And Makes Up His Mind To Hire A "Driving Under The Influence" Attorney

Although Franklin wasn't a lawyer, he told his son that he learned the hard way when as a young man he received a "drunk driving" arrest, represented himself in court, paid thirty-five hundred dollars in fines and penalties, and served 90 days in the jail downtown. As he mentioned to his son, after he got out of jail, he found out from a lawyer friend that if he would have hired a "driving under the influence" attorney in the first place, he more likely than not would have had his fines and penalties substantially reduced and he might have never served any jail time.

When Lawrence heard this he knew he needed more DUI facts and so he asked his father for more information about what a "drunk driving" lawyer can do in a DWI arrest. His father then articulated the following: "If you have been charged with DWI you need a DUI lawyer who will aggressively represent your legal rights through the complexities involved in a DUI case. DUI attorneys will be able to assist you every step of the way through the criminal process and help you find the answers you need."

When Lawrence heard his father explain this, it was as if his eyes were opened for the first time about the critical nature of hiring a DWI lawyer. Near the end of their conversation, Lawrence said that he was starting to grasp the relevance of DUI laws and what "drunk driving" lawyers can do for a person who has received a "driving under the influence" arrest.

After getting "schooled" about "drunk driving" arrests, the role of "drunk driving" lawyers, and understanding that he didn't have to agree to take any field sobriety tests at the time of his arrest, Lawrence made up his mind that he would definitely hire a "drunk driving" lawyer to represent him in court. Something else, however, happened after he had talked to his father. Lawrence at last began to comprehend the serious nature of DUI arrests and, as a result, he decided that from this point forward, he would always drink in moderation so that he would never again have to go through another "drunk driving" arrest.

His father smiled at Lawrence and told him the following: "Lawrence,it took me until I was fifty-five years old to realize what you just told me. I am very proud of you." This did wonders for his self esteem and so Lawrence thanked his father and then said, "if I can always drink responsibly, I will never need to hire a DUI lawyer again!"

Regrettably, there was one issue that neither Lawrence nor his father considered, namely, if Lawrence is manifesting any alcohol abuse signs or perhaps if he is exhibiting any of the common signs of alcoholism. In fact, if Lawrence is displaying any alcohol signs that point to alcohol abuse or alcoholism, he may need alcohol treatment.

If truth be told, Lawrence may be required by the court to get treatment for his careless drinking. The good news, however, is that whatever it takes to address his excessive and unhealthy drinking, it seems like Lawrence will be motivated to do the "correct" thing.
